The Board of Directors of the Education Foundation of Cotati & Rohnert Park (EFCRP) is pleased to announce its Grant Program for projects operating during the current school year.

Due to decreasing granting funds and increasing grant requests, we will be scrutinizing grant request very thoroughly for completeness and adherence to granting guidelines.  Priority will be given to request that align more closely with our mission statement.

The EFCRP Board of Directors reviews proposals received each year in blind review sessions.  A member of the Board of Directors or of the Advisory Board is selected each year to serve as the facilitator for the Grant Review Committee.  The selected facilitator is a non-voting member for purposes of grant approval.

A Board member of the EFCRP may contact you for an interview or on site-visit if your grant is approved.

Allocated funds, which are not spent for actual budgeted items by July 1, of the granting year will revert back to the Foundation for use in subsequent year's Grant Programs.

Grant requests must be delivered to site administrators on or before the first Monday immediately following Spring Break.  For 2009, the date is April 20th.  This will allow appropriate time for review and possible corrections to remain within CRPUDS purchasing guidelines.

Grant projects are reviewed for their adherence to as many of the goals listed below as possible and the spirit of the EFCRP mission:

  • Promote academic excellence and innovation
  • Encourage active learning opportunities for students and teachers
  • Demonstrate the ability to be shared with others in the educational community
  • Foster open communication among educators, parents and the community
  • Develop volunteer potential as well as participation by other school personnel
  • Involve students in the writing process when appropriate
  • Serve as many students as possible
  • Have long term and reverberating effects

General areas that the Grant Program does not fund:

  • Salaries
  • Teacher release time
  • Extracurricular time spent developing the program
  • Consumables / one time use items (i.e., food, paper, paint, etc.)
  • Programs funded by the District, the State or the Federal Government

Grant Follow-up:

The site principal or superintendent must sign all grant applications.

All grant recipients are required to submit a final evaluation, which must include the following:

  • A written evaluation of the project or program.
  • A sample of printed or other materials, such a photographs or recordings, resulting from the project.
  • A final budget including invoices, purchase orders, receipts or itemized bills.

Important Submission Information:

Only the Project Name shall appear in the body of the grant request.

Attach a completed Cover Sheet to your original grant request.

Prepare twenty (20) additional copies of the grant request only (no cover sheet)

Your name and the school name shall appear only on the attached cover sheet.

DO NOT mention your name or the name of the school in the body of the grant.  This includes any attached web quotes or other documents related to the grant request.

This is important!  Failure to comply with any of these terms will result in DISQUALIFICATION of your grant request!

It is heartbreaking for us to be forced to disqualify worthy grant requests because the school name or a preparer's name appeared in the body of the grant request or supporting document.
